Clothespin Painting {Toddler Craft}

Who knew painting with some ordinary supplies, would turn into such fun? My son had hours of fun with this Clothespin Painting Toddler Craft.

And remember how I shared our “Balloon Painting” adventure the other day? This craft is a similar concept.

The supplies are probably already in your home and this little post will give you the inspiration you need to get started. Plus you can turn it into a learning lesson along the way. {I’ll share more of that towards the end}

The supplies will make you say “Shut-the-front-door!” All you need is clothepins, pom poms, paint & paper. Simple right? And if you don’t have pom poms, cotton balls or pieces of sponge work too. You could even switch it up every time you do this craft, so it becomes something new each time.

As for what to do? Just gasp your pom poms in the clothespin and have your child dip them in the paint, then on the paper, making whatever design they want.

This craft is so easy, that anyone can pull it off. You say your not crafty? No excuses. One does not need to be crafty to put this together.

As for the learning lessons I mention above….have your child match the color pom poms to the matching paint color. With a little imagination, you can also turn it into several other games. Have them create caterpillars or make dots in the shape of ABC’s. Also toddlers can learn how to gasp with the clothespins through this craft.

And the best part? Clean up is a breeze too. Just open the clothespins to release the pom poms and throw them in the trash. No need to wash paint brushes or you child.

Now sit back and admire your child’s work. While your at it, pat yourself on the back because you were a great mom to put this together!
